Nagpur: With induction of new aircraft and weapon systems in the Indian Air Force, the Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal NAK Browne has called upon the officers of the Maintenance Command to be vigilant about the changing security scenario and be prepared to meet any challenge emerging out of it.

Inaugurating the annual commanders’ conference at Maitenance Command Headquarters at Nagpur on Monday, the Air Chief said, "IAF has taken confident strides on the path of transforming itself into a multi-spectrum strategic force capable of addressing India'' future security concerns."

He further said that while inducting new hardware, we need to constantly remind ourselves that the real enablers and drivers of our transformation process “our people” always remain our first priority.

The Indian Air Force is constantly upgrading its maintenance capabilities for maximum utilization of its fleet. According to sources, specific doctrinal changes are contemplated to upgrade the training standards to match the new technology that with come with new inductions.

The Indian Air Force is in the process of major transformation with new hardware, systems and training. Apart from the MMRCA deal, the Indian Air Force is upgrading its transport fleet with the aircraft like C-130 J Super Hercules and C-17 Globemaster airlifters.

The Indian Air Force is soon to have new attack and transport helicopters in its fleet. To keep these flying machines ready for any operation, the Maintenance Command has to play a major role.

According to an official press release, the Air Chief lauded the achievements of Maintenance Command in keeping the operational preparedness at high level.

He presented trophies for outstanding performance to the Base Repair Depots and Equipment Depot.

Browne was received at Nagpur Airport by the AOC-in-C of the Maintenance Command Air Marshal J. Chandra. He inspected a ceremonial guard of honour presented to him on this occasion.
