Tehran : The timetable for implementation of the Geneva deal will be declared after minor issues between Iran and the world powers are resolved, a senior member of Iran's nuclear negotiating team said Thursday.

Describing the recent expert-level meeting between Iran and the world powers to develop mechanisms for materialising the Geneva deal as "positive," Abbas Araqchi said that technical issues have been resolved but there are some minor differences which should be patched up through exchange of views between the two sides' politicians, Xinhua reported.

As soon as these issues are resolved, the timetable for implementing the Geneva deal would be made public, he told the official IRNA news agency, without detailing the remaining issues.

These differences stem from different interpretations of the Geneva deal and it seemed that all these problems could be resolved by referring to the text of the Geneva accord, Araqchi said.

"They (the P5+1 group) have proposed different timetable but the two parties should reach a mutual agreement," he was quoted as saying.

Iran and the P5+1 group - the US, Britain, France, Russia, China plus Germany - have held three rounds of expert-level nuclear talks following the deal they reached in November, in which Iran agreed to freeze part of its nuclear programme in exchange of limited ease of sanctions, which had hurt its economy.

Hamid Baeidinejad, who heads Iran's expert-level nuclear negotiating team, said Wednesday Iran and the P5+1 group have proposed Jan 20 as the date to implement the Geneva deal, according to Press TV.

The proposed date needed to be verified by the two sides' political directors, Baeidinejad was quoted as saying.
